Snowboarding @ Birch Hill

We finally got the boys (willingly) out on the ski hill.  Both Bo & Sam decided they wanted to learn how to snowboard.  I'm not sure if it was watching the Winter Olympics last week or what, but I was excited and got them signed up for lessons as soon as I could.  I still think they probably should have learned to ski first but it wasn't a battle I felt worth battling.  I will encourage their desire to learn new things and help them any way I can.

The lesson was 2 hours and they were exhausted by the end.  It was -15deg outside and they were drenched in sweat.  I'd say it was a great start.

Max Started Gymnastics

Max has always been a little freakish when it comes to pure strength, bounciness and overall agility so it seems only fitting that he loves gymnastics.  I wanted him to start a few months ago but he was beyond against it.  I did all that I could to debunk his claim that "Gymnastics is for girls" by telling him that his coach would be a boy and that ninjas & X-Gamers need to know how to flip too.

Hook.  Line.  And Sinker.

One day I even over heard another Dad talking about him.  "That kid is a beast!"  I couldn't be more proud!

Jobs for Hire

The boys are getting to that age where they need to start learning the value of a dollar so we are basing our family earning system around the commission philosophy that the more you work, the more you get paid.  The first day we put the chart up, the boys went nuts.  They had been wanting a new x-box game and I told them that if they earned half ($20), I would pay the other half.  They quickly figured out that if they worked together towards the same goal, they would reach it much quicker.  Hearing them negotiate which jobs each would do was fun to witness and the fact that Sam now thinks scrubbing the toilets is not gross is priceless!  Plus, they finally earned the game and my house has been spotless for days.

Bo drew the pictures so Sam & Max could tell what's what

"Everything is Awesome"

We took the boys to see the Lego Movie in 3D.  The song was right, everything was awesome.
