TX1 - Pecans

One of Sam & Max's favorite things to do while we were at Opa & Nana's was helping Opa pick up pecans.

We even got to help Nana gather and record data about the pecan trees that my Opa planted.

Fairbanks - Seattle - Austin

This year we decided to go to Austin between holidays in hopes of having a stress free easy trip without all the hub bub of all day cooking or Christmas chaos.  And it was great.

We left the Saturday after Thanksgiving and flew to Seattle.  The layover is 5.5 hours to fly straight through so we chose to break up the trip with a stop over.

The boys are traveling pros now and relatively easy, thanks to their iTouches and no more strollers, carseats or diaper bags.  Max even made the whole trip in underwear without any accidents.  He did however go to the bathroom at least 4 times on each flight.  I don't know if he really had to go each time or if he just wanted to go on an adventure but either way he did great.  I was so proud of him.

In Seattle we took the boys to the History of Flight Museum.  They were a little young to appreciate most of it but they still liked seeing all the planes and the fact that it was nicer than the disgusting hotel pool that reaked of chlorine so bad it made Bo cough to the point of puking.

Max's Wiener Ouwy

I don't know whether to laugh or cringe but the toilet seat fell on Max while he was going pee and it squished his wiener.  (He is barely tall enough to stand and pee so he has to rest his penis on the bowl rim which added to the trapping)  So sad and painful but so funny.   Sorry Max.  He even has a bad sore on it now and asks everyone he sees if they want to see his ouwy.  Luckily I was able to intervene before he showed our neighbor girl.   But holy cow, who knew that could happen?!

October

October came and went as did my apparent ability to blog so here's a wrap up of our month in
 pictures.

Sam had wanted a mowhawk for a long time so I finally let him get one.  He LOVED it.

For Halloween Max was Iron Spider (half Iron Man, half Spider Man), Sam was Snake Eyes from GI Joe and Bo was Steve from Minecraft but never really actually wore the costume so he was just Bo.

We took the kids to the latest Children's Museum Without Walls event where they decided stacking cups was a lot of fun so we continued the fun at home.

Bo

Bo got glassses.  He can see 20/30 with both eyes but his right eye is really weak (20/70). The eye doctor is optimistic that it will strenghthen up with the help of glasses.  Fingers crossed.  No one wants a lazy eye.

We had many sledding playdates with Devon & Aaron.

No, I Don't Have Pnuts!

Today Max witnessed me hovering over a port-a-potty at the park and was shocked that I "peed out of my butt" instead of my pnuts.  I tried to explain that boys have penises and girls have vaginas but the level of comprehension just wasn't there.  Plus hearing Sam say "vagina" cracked me up so much that before I could explain further they were already into the mud puddles and done with the phenomenon.  Thank goodness for short attention spans and my apparent inability to hold a poker face with anything poop, fart or vagina related.
